We're having a break from the story next week when it's Valentine's Day on the 14th and we have our yearly contribution to the Valentine's Day Sex Drive!

But you can already see the next page on the Patreon now, it's already been there for a while now! Link just below!

You say/I say

(As an Australian, I probably say the former and as a native of Ohio, Scott may say the latter! Luis lives somewhere in the middle? No, seriously he does live in a country that is somewhere between mine and Scott's!)

Art by Luis XIII

Story and lettering by Scott T. Hicken

Hmm, the lips say "tee hee, i'm so shallow!" but the eyes say "i'm on to you idiots!"

Now i wonder what would happen if you put the royal diadem on Tiff.

Also, i'm caught up now, time to check out the other canvases, er, branches of this story.

Well, she looks like she's suspicious. Guess Peonie should have waited until AFTER the plan went off to describe it.

You know, if you know that she's Tiff and not Typh, but you don't want her to know that you know... maybe call her Typh and not Tiff, like you did when you still didn't know, you know?

I always thought they were actually pronounced the same, and the difference in reaction to the different spellings was a running joke. But I guess Typh is pronounced as in "typhoon" then?

I guess either is possible, who can say? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well, seeing as both of them would ALWAYS correct them if they used the other name, there IS a difference in pronunciation, whatever that may be...

It's the difference in how I naturally pronounced each in my head, but honestly I don't think it started mattering that much until I wanted to do the joke spread between this page and the next - https://exiern.thecomicseries.com/comics/688#content-start - and I thought it interesting that a minor switch in the vowel sound could impact so much.

The problem with writing long form fantasy is that on one page it's a joke, on the next page it's worldbuilding lore! :D
