Scimitars may be fairly available on a ship like this. I know a number of chefs who understand why their cooking knives are less than ideal for combat and can talk about it for hours... while conveniently not including in the discussion the few knives they have that are presumably excellent for combat.

To be clear, I don't really understand what knives are good for combat, I just noticed that there were certain knives they weren't talking about. I don't know enough about knives to know the names of those knives.
