Now that Typh is separated from the curse, the spellsinger sex-change attempted early on in the comic (the one Theresa resisted to keep her female form) should work on him? Much of the church may be anti-Typh, but surely Theresa would give him a male form if he ever runs into her.
I'd suspect this is something the church only offered because Typh was born male. I would guess they haven't done so for the Captain on those grounds (unless she has actually has had a magic sex-change, and just never mentioned it).

I think that's supposed to be "symbiotically" (as in needs to live together) not "symbolically" (as in a metaphor).

I think symbolically is the correct word, here.
If "you" separated from "me", then "we" would cease to exist.

Okay I knew they weren't about to kill off the main character, but for things to resolve with THIS little consequence is a bit lame.

It's my guess that over time we will learn how poor our grasp of the author's and artist's imaginations is. This only feels like "little consequence" right now because we don't understand all the shenanigans that will happen as consequence to this. To be clear, I don't know where they're taking this. But that's part of why we keep following the comic isn't it?

I'm no more privy to what happens next than everyone else but from what I noticed given I only discovered Exiern in late 2015 (and then read 10 years of archives at that point over 2 days) was queries, questions and criticisms in the comments for a given page as it was just published and then come across a later page which was clearly the payoff for an earlier setup. One of the pitfalls of only having to read the story at the rate of a page a week when you're up to date with the latest published pages, I guess.
TL;DR - I'm confident this is all going somewhere worthwhlle, the story hasn't let me down yet (and have I now been reading Exiern for almost 8 years now?!?!).
